Travelling With Kids

Our family loves a bit of travel. Whether it be a weekend away in the camper trailer or a very-planned out week in Fiji. I love the excitement it brings our kids in the lead up and planning. We love packing and organising everything ready to go.

Having a biggish family of two adults/3 (soon to be 4) kids hasn’t turned us off travelling at all. It just takes a bit more prep time and watching those travel sales! (I watch them like a hawk!)  We stick to a really tight budget and often plan a year in advance where we’re going and what we’ll be doing.

Every year we set off to the same resort for a week in our camper after Christmas. It’s such a great break and we all relax and wind down from the busy lead up to Christmas. The kids swim, we go for walks, sit around in the evenings with a few bevvies, we love it. Lots of lazy, family days.

There’s another great resort a few hours away that’s right on the beach that we love too. And because where we live is very close to the river, we don’t mind a few days of ‘roughing it’ camping either.

I would never pass up a trip to Melbourne. Absolutely love being in a big city – especially Melbourne. I love the lights, the busyness of it all, the food – everything. There’s just so much to see and do – and not all of it costs a lot of money.

We’ve taken our kids overseas twice to Fiji now. They absolutely adore it there and so do we. It’s only a short-haul international flight, which is very manageable. The Fijian people are just gorgeous and you can do as much or as little as you like. We hope to get back there mid-next year.

So this is the spot I hope to share experiences, find travel bargains and share them. Travel with kids doesn’t have to be stressful – I promise!
